About Me
Hello and welcome to:

My name is Ruth Oshikanlu and I’m a nurse, midwife, health visitor and parenting expert.
I am a midwife at heart, truly ‘with woman’ and love working with women and children to enable them to become the best they can be.
I am a go-getter, and if I want something, I set goals and keep working hard to achieve them, and won’t concede until I make it happen.
I wanted to write a book. In ninety days I penned one. Tune In To Your Baby: Because Babies Don’t Come with An Instruction Manual

I wanted to make a real difference to the women and children, without feeling guilty that I was neglecting parenting my son. I decided that the best way to do so was to become a nurse entrepreneur and continue to enjoy raising my son, whilst supporting women from before conception right through to toddlerhood and beyond; to enjoy pregnancy and motherhood without sacrificing their own personal needs.
Low and behold, www.tuneintoyourbaby.com was conceived.
However, there is one area that I have not succeeded to date.
My weight!
And this is why……….
For as long as I can remember, I have been big or let’s call a spade a spade, fat!
I was born big, and just got bigger. I was the big kid in school, earning the nick name “Mama Toz” from the age of nine.
However, my weight has never held me back. I love life, so I just lived life. My weight never bothered me. When it became a problem, I would diet and lose weight.
In 2008, I lost the most weight I’d ever lost – about 5 stone and kept it off for about 3 years. However, over the last few years I gradually put all the weight back on, plus some more.
In desperation, last year, I went back to the gym and hired a personal trainer to enable me to get fit and lose weight. But after 5 sessions I sustained a tear to my calf muscle which set me back. I had to be non-weight bearing for a few weeks and put so much weight on.
At the start of the, I weighed the heaviest I’d ever been. 19stone and 2 lbs!!!! Poor scales! They’ve never worked so hard!!!
I do love life. But somehow my weight has got in the way of enjoying life. I weigh too much for my knee and ankle joints and they have started a revolt. They are crying out in pain. I need them so I must listen!
I love to dance, but even that is getting painful.
So I’m on a mission……..
To Get My Weight Out Of My Way! . . . . . . . . For Life!!!!
To enable me to reach my goal, I will use my weight loss to raise money for charity. To lose lbs, for £££s.
I want to raise

So I will need your help to do this.
I would love you to commit as much as you can afford for every pound I lose.
My goal is to lose

That’s a total of 114 pounds to lose.
You won’t have to pay until I achieve my goal and we can all celebrate my achievement and raise money for good causes.
I’m in!
Are you?
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Let’s journey together
I plan to have fun all the way and I’ll keep you posted every step of the way. So please join me in my disappearing act.
Doing it my weigh,
